Llama AI
DeFi Llama's latest AI tool that aggregates all their data
TLDR:
Llama AI is DeFi Llama’s recently released AI solution trained with all of the latest DeFi data from their aggregator platform.
It’s a highly specialised AI that excels in prompts for data analysis on protocols or coins in crypto, and can generate great comparisons and charts easily.
It’s genuinely impressive and you can see it in action below, but at $49/month I would only recommend it for those who regularly dive into DeFi data.
I’m a big user of DeFi Llama, in fact I regularly share their data with my DeFi Daily’s, and with their recent release of their Llama AI I had to give it a go.
So for this week’s post I had a brief look at the newly released Llama AI to give you a little taste of what you can do with it.

Llama AI
As a quick reminder DeFi Llama is a website that aggregates thousands of different data points from the DeFi ecosystem into single place.
It’s probably the single best place for analysing what’s happening in DeFi and being able to track everything in this vast and complex space, and I’ve already written a post about it before that you can check out below.
This past week DeFi Llama officially released their own AI trained on their platform’s data called Llama AI!
You can think of it as the easiest way to analyse and navigate the data on DeFi Llama, turning the tiring manual tasks of trying to crunch through data into simple single line prompts where the AI does all the work for you.
You can see the basic idea of it in action in this promo video they released below.
I love DeFi Llama and in fact it is one of the main resources I use to generate my regular DeFi Daily newsletter.
So I had to try out Llama AI and write about it - even though it meant upgrading to their $49/month pro subscription plan!
How to Prompt it
The Llama AI is a highly specialised AI focused on DeFi data so any prompts with it should be specific to this topic.
On the Llama AI landing page they describe the AI as an “onchain analyst” that compiles queries for you in the background doing all the hard work for you.
The landing page also highlights some of their own prompt examples:
As you can see the 3 examples shown here are related to protocols and coins, comparing their growth or prices.
In the FAQ at the bottom they also show some more examples that make it clear that the ideal prompts are those that compare and contrast data or generate charts.
So the key takeaway here is that the best prompts treat Llama AI as your personal “onchain analyst” that compares data and draws graphs for you.
With this clarity let’s now take a look at using it.
How to Use it
Using Llama AI is then as simple as you’d imagine.
First I had to pay for their $49/month Pro subscription, then on clicking the “Llama AI” button I was given a box for the prompt just like practically every other AI system today:
For my first test I went with asking a really simple question: “what are the top DeFi protocols by revenue?”.
This is the sort of thing I could have gone and checked in the data myself. However, I wanted to see the output and I got a pretty good answer:
Interestingly it gave me some key insights at the bottom that I hadn’t expected like how ORE Protocol has a pretty low “Price-to-Sales” (P/S) ratio.
This led me to ask a more interesting question about what tokens the AI believes are undervalued given the data its aware of.
This answer made a comparison to the “Price-to-Fees” (P/F) ratio, and gave some very interesting results like how QuickSwap has a very low market-cap relative to the fees its making.
Keeping on this line of thought I decided to learn more about Quick Swap and why it may be the case that it has such a low market-cap given its high fees.
The outcome is surprising given that they supposedly have $500M in TVL, such a low market-cap seems like a miss-pricing by the market and a potential opportunity.
Fees have more than doubled over the last six months so its clearly a growing platform. The very low market-cap really suggests that there’s potential here to buy in at an underpriced valuation, but before doing that it would be wise to do a little more research, of which I’m sure Llama AI could help!
Most importantly though you’ve now seen an example of Llama AI in action and you can see here the AI can come up with some great answers with near to no work from the user.
DeFi Aggregator
As I said right at the start DeFi Llama is the single best source of data for DeFi since it aggregates thousands of different data points from the DeFi ecosystem into a single place, and no other platform in the space does as good a job at this.
Their new Llama AI is a layer on top of their data that supercharges DeFi Llama as it makes it trivial to build out any analysis, both big and small, that you may want.
You can do simple queries like I did above with “What are the top DeFi protocols by revenue?” and find yourself with some very clear results.
Or you can do more complex queries that get into the weeds with specific protocols or tokens as I also did above with my question analysing Quick Swap’s love market cap.
And from what I’ve seen of it so far it completely surpasses the sort of answers that generic AI competitors like ChatGPT or Grok give, which is unsurprising since its directly loaded with all this aggregated DeFi data.
However realistically, although my testing with Llama AI proved it to be very good, since it costs $49/month I’d only really recommend it for the real hardcore DeFi nerds (like myself) who want fast access to this sort of data analysis at their finger tips!
