TLDR:
Galxe is an example of a Web3 Questing Platform where you create tasks for project users to do and give out rewards for completion, its a win-win scenario.
As a Galxe user you can browser around different project’s spaces, take part in quests, and be appropriately rewarded, I show you below an example of this.
As a Galxe business owner you can create your own space and create your own quests with substasks, I also show an example of how to do this below.
Galxe competitors include QuestN, Zealy, Layer3. Each of these questing platforms are already very large in their own right with millions of users on them.
Last week I ran through how to use Tunnl as an example of an InfoFi platform since we were testing it out for Yield Seeker.
Well this week I’m testing out Galxe, which is a Web3 questing platform, so I decided to similarly run through how to use it and teach readers about questing platforms in the process.

Galxe
Galxe is what’s known as a Web3 questing platform. These platforms are designed to drive user engagement, onboarding, and community growth for projects through creatings tasks for users (also known as “quests”) and giving out rewards for doing them.
Questing platforms are ultimately growth platforms that use this task-reward mechanism to incentivise user behaviour in a way that’ll be positive for both the users and the projects.
For example a user may be tasked with creating an account and taking some action in the project and in return be rewarded with some money or points, this ends up being a win-win as the project wins from having new users and the user wins the reward.
There are well known questing platforms in the space like QuestN, Zealy and Layer3, that are all well respected and large platforms in their own right. I looked briefly at all of them before choosing to use Galxe for Yield Seeker and found different pros and cons for each of them.
QuestN seemed fast to get campaigns up and running and well connected with many social platforms, but it seemed to be unable to integrate with on-chain metrics so well so it felt more apt for general marketing campaigns to get views and engagement.
Zealy appeared to lack much of QuestN’s variety of marketing channel integrations, yet it allowed for more complex integrations with apps. While Layer3 seemed to offer even more complexity and optionality, offering even mini games, but that seemed like too much for me for now.
Given all this I decided to go with Galxe, at least at this stage. Admittedly it’s quite complex and its main drawback appears to be that business accounts get expensive quite fast, since the next plan up after the free one is $2,999 per month. Either way, it felt like the right choice for us for now and so I decided to start here.
Below we’ll take a look at how Galxe works both as a user on the platform, and as a business creating campaigns for users to take advantage of them.
User
As a user in Galxe you can go into different project spaces and take on quests to earn points that’ll lead to reward. For example, on opening the app if you scroll down a little you’re given a set of suggestions to “Start with these Quests”.
Clicking on the “Explore Abstract Chain” quest for example will show you the different tasks you can do for Abstract chain to earn points with them as shown below.
Now if you decide to do one of the simpler actions like “Follow @abstractjp on X” it’ll first ask you to connect your X account to Galxe, then take you to do the action, in this case following the Japanese Abstract account.
Once the action is done you can come back into Galxe and mark it as done and it’ll appear as such with a check mark on the right-side.
I went along and completed all 3 of the tasks required in this group of tasks and after successfully marking them all as done it offered me 20 points on the Abstract chain’s Galxe space.
To then claim these points I need to hit the claim button and once the transaction went through I was rewarded with them and appeared on their project leaderboard.
Note that many of their rewards are registered on Galxe’s own blockchain called Gravity, and if you do not have any money on their chain then you may not be able to claim rewards. In this case I suggest sending as little as $1 over with gas.zip to Gravity, you can follow my previous tutorial of gas.zip if you’re unsure how to do this.
Above is just one example of the sort of quest you can participate in as a user on Galxe, those who use it regularly with lots of quests can eventually be rewarded in all sorts of ways.
Business
Now as a business you’re on the other side of the platform creating quests for the users and defining their rewards. So lets look at the process of creating a quest with Yield Seeker itself.
We begin by selecting the “enterprise” option on the home page, instead of launch app, and then select “Create Spaces” to create a space for our project, and then choose the free option for now.
Next you’ll be asked to fill out the main details for your project, including name, logo, email, and more, as shown below.
Next Galxe require you to put in $300 deposit into the platform as a guarantee to protect their users - you can get this $300 back after 3 months of using the platform.
Note that when I did this deposit it took a while for it to register before my space was created, so it might take a little bit of time for you too. But when it does register you can select “Create” and your space will be created!
Now that we have our own space lets create our first quest.
Quests
Quests are where the real magic happens, Galxe offers a lot of malleability for its quests but let’s make a simple one for now by selecting “Launch Your Debut Quest” on the new space’s Dashboard.
Galxe offers many different quest types that include both off-chain and on-chain metrics, but for the sake of reducing complexity during this post we’ll choose “Quick Quest Creation” out of the options available.
Here you’ll be taken to a menu where you can create the title of the quest, the description, the quest period, and set up the tasks themselves.
With the title, description, and period set, we can now create a few tasks for users within the quest, simply select the “Edit Task Group” button and a bunch of options will appear.
Here’s where you can set up the main actions the user needs to take to earn points. All questing platforms including QuestN, Zealy, and Layer3 have a similar interface at this point, the differences appear in the platforms they can hook up with.
For this quest I created 4 tasks:
Follow the Yield Seeker account on X - x.com/yieldseekerxyz
Follow my Afoxinweb3 account on X - x.com/afoxinweb3
Follow Yield Seeker space on Galxe
Visit our Yield Seeker page, create an agent, and deposit funds
Note that the 4th task there can be checked more thoroughly with Galxe’s on-chain and API connections, but for the sake of brevity I just used a “Visit Page” option so users can effectively game this task and still earn the points.
Finally before we can actually create this quest, we need to decide on the reward that people will earn from our Galxe campaign. Galxe offer 4 options for this: Points, NFTs, OATs (their internal NFT system), and Tokens.
For this quest I chose to give tokens as a reward and I set it to be a luck-based raffle such that in roughly 2 weeks when it ends it will randomly give out $20 in USDC to 10 users who took part in the quest!
After successfully depositing the $200 in USDC, saving the campaign, and setting it to public, the final output was this below.
Finally I selected “release” and the quest was ready to go!
Outcome
With the quest created it’s now live and will become active on 28/08 at 4pm UTC, and run for 2 weeks, after which it will reward 10 users from those who participated with $20 each randomly as I explained above.
You can find the quest in the Yield Seeker space as shown below.
The campaign we just created is visible at the bottom there and selecting it will bring up the screen with the quest and its tasks.
The exact outcome of this quest I’ll only be able to see when it comes to an end 2 weeks from now, but I’m interested in seeing how well this quest performs.
However the potential benefits should be clear at this point. Users can do a few simple actions at no cost to them and stand to earn $20, while we will likely earn many new followers on X and users on the platform, so its a win-win situation.
This is just the first Galxe quest for Yield Seeker and so I kept it simple, but the potential to make more complex and interesting quests is pretty clear here. Most importantly you now also understand how questing platforms work and can leverage them yourself too if you ever want to, either as a user or as a project owner!
